welcome

On behalf of our pastors, the administration, faculty, and students of OLOAA we invite you to learn about us and journey with us as we walk as one family in the 21st century.

Our Lady of the Angels Academy is one of the Catholic Schools located within the Diocese of Allentown and is administered by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Under the direction of our Board of Pastors and principal, OLOAA strives to ensure the spiritual, academic, emotional and social growth of each child.

The curriculum guidelines set-forth by the Diocese of Allentown, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the directives of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as our dedicated faculty and staff, are the impetus behind the success of our spiritual and academic programs.

Empowered by Christ, Our Lady of the Angels Academy is committed to passing on the full and authentic message of the Gospel. Prayer, worship, and service are the means by which we celebrate our relationship with God and with one another. Our school is a community of faith where the responsibility of building a truly Christian community is shared by all of its members. We believe in fostering a spirit of cooperation and generosity where time, talent, and treasure are shared.

A supportive and nurturing environment for students from Pre-School to grade 8. Our Lady of the Angels Academy strives to develop student self-discipline and responsibility while experiencing joy and fulfillment of learning. Students at Our Lady of the Angels Academy gradually become aware of their personal giftedness and the gifts of those within the school community. We believe in the importance of fostering respect for authority and the rights of others, freedom of choice, cooperation, decision-making, and service to one another. These values help the student develop leadership skills, initiative, the ability to compromise, and a sense of teamwork.

Philosophy

Our Lady of the Angels Academy exists for Christ. God has called us forth and given us the Word – Jesus, who is our source of hope and love. It is He who sustains us and enables our relationship with others. Our goals are to become one with Him, to acknowledge His presence, and to proclaim His message to the world. read more

INTELLECTUAL ATTRIBUTE

Our Lady of the Angels Academy values each student as a creation of God and encourages each student to recognize, appreciate, and develop his or her God-given intellectual potential. We recognize that intellectual development progresses with age and experience from the concrete to the more abstract, symbolic operations.

Based on the belief that students learn best within a disciplined and supportive environment, the Academy strives to also develop student self-discipline and responsibility while experiencing joy and fulfillment of learning.

SPIRITUAL ATTRIBUTE

Of great importance to the educators of Our Lady of the Angels Academy is their role in leading children to respond to their baptismal call. We value the responsibility of assisting parents in leading their children to the formation of a personal relationship with God in their daily lives. We believe in creating an atmosphere in which the student’s faith will mature and prepare him or her for living a life rooted in Christ. We realize individual spirituality grows not only when students fulfill their religious duties toward God but also when they fulfill their duties toward themselves and others.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTE

Believing that each student has been created in the image and likeness of God, Our Lady of the Angels Academy guides students toward an awareness and appreciation of themselves as unique individuals gifted by God. The personal development and conscience formation of each student occurs in the loving, accepting environment of the school community.

SOCIAL ATTRIBUTE

In a Christian environment, students at Our Lady of the Angels Academy gradually become aware of their personal giftedness and the gifts of those within the school community. We believe in the importance of fostering respect for authority and the rights of others, freedom of choice, cooperation, decision-making, and service to one another. These values help the student develop leadership skills, initiative, the ability to compromise, and a sense of teamwork.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTE

The physical aspect of the student emphasizes the understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of his or her body as a wondrous creation of God. We strive to instill a sense of respect for this gift.
