Saturday, November  22, 2008  Chinese Auction  
In the St. Katharine Drexel Social Hall .   Doors open 3PM.  Auction at 6 PM.   The last day for advance tickets is Tuesday Nov. 18th .  

As in other years , there will be plenty of good food and many prizes including:
    Large prizes ( over $50 value)
    Christmas Table
    Classroom Baskets
    50/50 drawing
    Special Tickets for
        - Wii including Super Mario and Sonic Olympic Games
        - Longaberger Beverage Basket w/protector and wrought iron stand
        - Others to be named.

Extended Care Program

Dear Parents of OLOA and Little Angels Preschool,

        A new school year is upon us and we are pleased to announce the official start of our Extended Care Program (ECP) for the 2008-2009 school year. The ECP will be opened from 6:30-8am (8:45am for preschoolers) and 2:20-5:30pm M-F. It will take place in the rear area of the St. Katharine Drexel?s Social Hall. (Please see brochure for details)

We will accept any child registered at OLOAA or Little Angel?s Preschool into the program. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER BY FILLING OUT ECP SPECIFIC PAPERWORK PRIOR TO THE START OF YOUR FIRST DAY OF USING THE PROGRAM (ECP will NOT have access to any of the children?s school records, proper ECP enrolling emergency contact forms must be completed and submitted prior to the first day of care needed).

        We welcome anyone to sign up for care at any time and we can ensure parents care for child the following day after forms are submitted.

        If anyone is interested in registering their child, please contact the school office or Kim Feisel 805-4009 email feisel5@ptd.net or you may print out forms from www.oloa.net under ?Documents and Forms? tab - ECP forms listed (you will see 3 forms to print ? all 3 must be submitted). You can return the forms to the school office or you may drop them off or mail them to Kim Feisel  239 W Ridge St. Lansford 18232.

EASY EASY MONEY  for our school -   GoodShop Reminder

While mentioned in the past, it seems we are missing out on some real easy fundraising money !!.  The GoodShop  portal  ( part of the GoodSearch search engine ) allows OLOAA to receive percentages ( from 0.5% to 30%...average is said to be 3%) of on-line  purchases from over 500 stores, including many that I am sure you already use for routine purchases.

What this means is with about 2 additional clicks of the mouse you can raise considerable money for OLOAA !!.  Stores included are the likes of Walmart, E-bay , I-Tunes, Verizon, Target, Expedia, Home Depot, Dell, Office Depot  and most other major stores.

Bottom line ...if you are purchasing ANYTHING on line simply check through the GoodShop site and if the store is listed click on it, it will direct you to that specific store's main website , and then shop as normal. That's all there is to it !!   Imagine if you book airline tickets  through Expedia or Travelocity  the school gets 1% of the purchase upon travel completion.  So if you spend $1000 for airline tickets, OLOAA gets $10 and it costs you nothing except a couple mouse clicks. 

Just remember to enter in the "Who do you GoodShop for"  box  Our Lady of the Angels Academy (Lansford, PA), (just like in GoodSearch).

Billboard  The marketing committee is discussing the idea of billboard(s). One critical item however is location to place/erect these signs . The committee has requested soliciting the parent/friend e-mail group with the following :

• Does anyone has property or a building (that we can hang a sign on) along a well traveled road so that billboard space would be free? 

• Once sites are obtained looking for some volunteers that can help erect a few posts for the signs or attach as required to building?

Protecting God's Children  The Protecting God's Children Program for Adults is a three hour training program to educate those who work with children about the harms of child sexual abuse and what they can do to prevent it. Any adult volunteer who comes into contact with children for more that 15 hours a year is required to attend this program.
